Lives and works in Sao Paulo
In the pursuit of a new pictorial mindset in sculpture, the artist uses color and light as key elements and combines painting techniques such as encaustic, pigment, spray and enamel to materials like concrete, beeswax, stone, paraffin, foam, steel, brass, wood, graphite, fabric, ceramic and resin.
Tone shifts and diverse nuance are, thus, recurrent in her work. Especially for the paintings on plastic sheets which juxtaposed between transparent and opaque industrial pallet PVC sheets are stretched on wooden frames revealing new colors – which establish a dialogue with the heritage of painting and the history of art.
She has held solo shows throughout the world, in such venues as Museu da Taipa (Macao, China), Gallery 32 (London, England), Galerie Wuensch (Linz, Austria), Palácio das Artes (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), Paço das Artes (São Paulo, Brazil), Centro Universitário Maria Antônia (São Paulo, Brazil) and Centro Cultural São Paulo (São Paulo, Brazil).
She has also taken part in group shows such as “Mostra 3M de Arte” and “Urbe – Mostra de Arte Pública”, both in São Paulo; “III Bienal Internacional de Arte Gaia”, “16º Bienal de Cerveira” and “Prometheus Fecit”, at Museu Nacional de Soares dos Reis, Portugal; “Light Art Biennalle”, Austria; “III Bienal del Fin del Mundo”, in Argentina; “Bienal Tridimensional Internacional”, at Museu Histórico Nacional, and “Intervenções Urbanas Bradesco ArtRio”, at Museu da República, both in Rio de Janeiro; “Além do Ponto e da Linha”, at MAC-USP, in São Paulo; and “Nova Arte Nova”, at Rio and São Paulo’s venues for Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil.
Her work is featured in collections that include Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São Paulo, SESC, and the Brazilian Embassy in London.
