Galeria Kogan Amaro welcomes Bruno Miguel.

Lives and Works in Rio de Janeiro

We’re honored to announce Bruno Miguel as the artist to most recently be represented by Galeria Kogan Amaro São Paulo and Zurich. Teacher and curator, and graduated in Fine Arts at Escola de Belas Artes da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, he has studied painting at the renowned Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, also in Rio de Janeiro. In 2010, he has taken part in the program “Aprofundamento”, and at the following year he became a teacher at that school, where many important people in Brazilian contemporary art have been.

Since 2007, Bruno Miguel has participated on solo and group shows in Brazil and in countries such as the USA, Germany, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. His work is commercially represented by galleries in New York, Lima, Belo Horizonte and now in São Paulo, by Galeria Kogan Amaro. His pieces are part of important institutional and private collections, and lately he’s been selected to various international artistic residences. The kitsch excessive colorful quality of his paintings and sculptures alludes to street art practices. Bruno creates conceptually deep social criticism with humor, making his work a place of aesthetic experimentation with strong visual impact”, comments Ricardo Resende, Kogan Amaro’s artistic director.

It’s been four years working on these pieces, and it’s been almost two since they’ve been here waiting to go out into the world. It’ll not be for a lack of commitment that they’ll stay here”, said Bruno Miguel, in anticipation for this Galeria Kogan Amaro representation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
