Biography

Abstract painter Daniel Mullen was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1985. Graduated in 2011 from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where he currently resides. Mullen has had his works exhibited in London, Vancouver, New York, and more recently, held his first exhibition at the Direktorenhaus Museum in Berlin. Mullen’s artistic career started as a natural passion he exerts for architecture and spaces; what fascinates him is to create spaces, unoccupying them thereafter. He creates perspectives, toying with optical illusions, which come to place by combining pigmentation and geometry.

Mundano

Biography

MUNDANO is a 32 year old artivist born in the city of São Paulo and recognized internationally for his graffiti “papo reto” which means “straight to the point”, whether in public space or in more than 320 carts of collectors of recyclable materials. The graffiti artist and activist seeks to question concepts and behaviors of citizens and authorities through interventions that carry mostly impact phrases inspired by the local context. The preservation of the environment and universal human rights are the basis of his activism that transcends the inks.

Mundano is part of the NGO Ashoka, TED Fellow, founder of the NGO Pimp My Carroça and awarded in the area of public art, human rights, creativity and digital innovation. The tireless artist has already defined his life mission: to create an environmental and social legacy with his art. In order to fulfill this challenge, in the last 10 years he has given interventions, exhibitions and lectures by more than 40 cities in Brazil and in the world.

Nunca

Biography

Francisco Rodrigues, better known as Nunca (Never), is among the most famous masters of Brazilian street art: his work, which can be found in cities all over the world, earned a reputation when the Tate Modern put on a major exhibition of global street art in 2008, covering the museum´s exterior walls with works around 15 metres high.

He started making graffiti and pichação (a uniquely Brazilian form of tagging) on the streets of São Paulo when he was 12 years old. Over the decades, his work developed into a more pictorial form. Though made with acrylic or spray paint, it often has the look of woodcuts or etchings, using colours and styles to evoke the anciet traditions of the Brazilian people and the clash between tribal roots and globalized society.

Samuel de Saboia

Biography

Born in Totó’s neighborhood of Recife, Samuel de Saboia, 21, held his first solo exhibition last year at the Ghost Gallery in New York. He began his career at a very young age, when he was just 15, back in 2012, at a collective exhibition at Casarão venue in Recife. Since then he has held several exhibitions around the world, including Paredão, CCSP (2017), The Skin I’m In, Space 776, New York (2018), and now his first solo in Brazil, at Emmathomas Gallery. During his stay in Paris, at the end of last year, he joined La Barraque Creative, a collective space that acts as an intermediary between artists and major national and international brands.
